Located at 901 Jefferson Street the Latrobe Police Department is a highly trained and professional Community oriented Law Enforcement Agency. The Police Department strives to protect and serve the citizens and community of the City of Latrobe with a proactive approach. The City of Latrobe Police Department rosters a full complement of Officers. These dedicated officers provide twenty four hour protection for the City.

The Police Department utilizes several vehicles for the purpose of both routine and specialized patrol consisting of marked patrol units, bicycles and an off road Quad runner.

Although the core goals of the Department are to Protect and Serve, the department has developed philosophies in Community oriented policing and citizen awareness and education. These philosophies show true in such programs as Citizens Police Academy, High School Criminal Justice Club, Civilian Ride-along Program and student internships. Also provided is an array of other service oriented programs such as: Alzheimer Awareness Program, professional group counseling for parents of children who are addicted or abuse drugs. The Department also participates in countless community relations and crime prevention programs tailored to all types of groups from preschool to the elderly. The Officers that perform these community oriented duties show their dedication and awareness to the community.

Each officer of the Police Department has extensive training in all areas of law enforcement. Many of the officers are certified instructors in specific areas of law enforcement. Some of the specialized trainers are firearms instructors (pistol, rifles, and shotgun), less-lethal weapons, chemical weapons, flash noise diversionary devices, sniper and hostage negotiator. With such a diverse and effective collection of officers who are both specialized and certified in these areas, in house training is accessible to the other officers of the department creating a highly tactically skilled force.

The Police Department maintains a safe climate of living for all citizens, within the City of Latrobe.
